Class Announcements Weight BiasOne of the most common forms of bullying in American schools is weight bias. Students are judged by their body weight. Often times larger children are considered slow, dirty, or stupid. Our society puts a great deal of pressure on us to look like super models. When we cannot achieve this, it leads to bullying, depression, even suicidal thoughts. Below (under class links) is a link to the Yale-Rudd Center. This link provides information on helping children deal with issues of weight and overcoming weight bias in schools and communities.
